What was written above is what is true concerning the 500,000 max out of the school's coffers. You can not use SEC Network/Conference funds to pay or buy out a coach. It must be raised thought donations via the foundation, or larger donors, etc.

With the stadium expansion that Long got us into, other salaries paid, and plans for BWA/etal... we are a bit cash strapped via the foundation at the moment. It is, what it is. Tyson would pay the buyout if Gus comes... Gus doesn't want to move back as a coach period...

What is left? I think it will happen at the end of the season regardless.

I'm pretty certain it will as well. The "lack of money" problems that have been talked about in this thread are being overblown for sure. All in all, the health of the athletic department - as well as it's funding - is better than ever. There's never been a time when more money was brought in through the various ways and donations, and I have to imagine Yurachek knows those funds grow even larger when you have a winning product in the most profitable sport.

I can assure everyone here that the Arkansas athletic department is not strapped for cash.
