He wouldn't fit in at college Station.

The culture really hurts them.

I also agree that Pittman is 100% out, just too many grumbling up there for it not to be true.

Haven't heard anything about Malzahn but I will say this - his name always pops up like this when Arkansas is making a move. I would hold out on that one being true.

The important part is that Pittman is done. I was really hoping aTm would keep Fisher another year so we'd likely be the only SEC job open

Have to think the aTm move also put some pressure on the money people and AD at Arkansas to make a move

Memory ain’t what it used to be but wasn’t Gus the hire after we dumped Bert but he left us at the alter for a contract upgrade at Barn that left us hiring Chad? If we offered him the job and he used us for a raise screw him even more. There has to be better options out there for Christs sake.

Being the "only SEC job available" not only never happens isn't the draw it was 10-15 years ago with conference expansion and expanded playoff system.

Coaches want to go to programs that will do everything possible to support them to achieve the highest success possible.

Arkansas isn't one of these places in football. Basketball has always succeeded despite them not because of them.

But these were all cheap coaches who instead of being paid their worth were ran off when they asked to be paid their worth and the expectations were raised to unrealistic levels.

Not only did he used Arkansas for a raise, he recommended Chad and the dumbasses in charge hired Chad based on his recommendation.

The Gus thing has always been inevitable. If Auburn didn’t pony up in 2017 he woulda been here already

Sounds a lot like Moo State will be open as well.

They actually may go and get Mullen again. It would only make sense.

A&M and Miss St being open don't hurt our options IMO. A&M will be swinging a giant dick made of money at coaches we have no shot at and we are a better option than Miss St.

I don't want Mullen and he is the only coach I could see choosing Miss St over us.

Has Aggy ever hired a coach that Arkansas wanted?

I know buzz wanted Arkansas, but Arkansas thankfully didn't want him.

Jumbo hire was mainly to invoke jealousy from LSU.

Good point. Jimbo was a dumb hire from the start. Sumlin was a super hot name at the time they got him. Def would have taken him.

In retrospect they could have kept Sumlin and saved a couple hundred million for slightly better results

The only positive about hiring Malzahn would be the NLI fund. The Tysons love him and I'm sure would give a shite ton of money for players. Other than that it'd be an awful hire. About 50 other coaches run his hurry up offense much better than him. Kevin Steele saved his arse at Auburn countless times.

I haven't looked into what their people are saying, but I would be surprised if they got rid of Arnett after one season. Especially considering he was thrust into the job without a warning after Leach died. Just don't think it's a good look for them to move on so quickly, but this is big business so nothing is off the table

Gus' time has passed. Defenses have caught up to him. That said, he's not a worse coach than Sam, Chad, Bert, or Johnelle
