Probably because it hit them that if he beats LSU, he’ll look too competent to fire. But even that doesn’t make sense.

At first it seemed like odd timing. But maybe they’re scared he’ll pull off a win against LSU, making it much harder to fire him with momentum and warm, fuzzy feelings at the end of the season.
