Because he didn’t graduate. Kind of seems to me, he doesn’t want to be in spotlight. Jake Scott was same way. I’ll not speculate on this, but if he’s away from team, something is obviously ring, and only he can make it right. It would be a travesty for this story to end in him not making a comeback.

He signed a $4 million contract. You might be bagging his groceries, but I doubt he'll be bagging anybody else's groceries.

I looked it up and his contract paid just under 700,000 this year. And his NIL college deals we’re collectively around 1 million. So best case he moved to LA with 1.7ish if he never spent a dime of his money.

According to Spotrac, Bennett’s projected contract is worth a total of $4.54 million with a $699,140 signing bonus and a cap hit of $924,785 in 2023. Good thing there's plenty more to come, then.

by the way, his family farm is being auctioned off
Bennett JR selling the farm
I have bought and sold 4 homes in my life. What's your point?

You’re retired? Most of your posts read like they were written by a 12 year old.

The retired population in Tennessee are on the same reading level as a 12 year old. Teeth missing too.

This guy probably didn’t make good grades and shouldn’t have been playing football, but grades don’t matter anymore as long as you’re a winner on the FB field.

Seen it happen too many times.

He gets the 699,000 in guaranteed money. The rest is contingent on meeting the criteria in the contract. And the Rams have already moved away from him. Fortunately the draft was a bust for them as Byron Young is having a solid rookie year.

Looks like it’s Jrs estate not his dad, the rehab Bennett is the IV. Odd that they would auction off his estate and the family home instead of keeping it in the family.

Be specific. How many times have you seen it?

Do tell. Because they don't expect him back this year? How is that moving on from him?

McVay said that while he wasn't ready to declare officially that Bennett won't be back with the Rams in 2023, he said "but it's probably less likely than it is likely he would be," according to ESPN NFL Nation Rams reporter Sarah Barshop. McVay, once again, said Bennett was "doing well."

Maybe you should inform the Rams that they have "moved on" from Bennett.

Seems amazing that the player most on this board swore we could not win with...then swore he could not get drafted into the NFL...then swore he would never play is getting so much thought from Tennessee fans.

Incorrect. His year 1 contract was guaranteed when he made the 53 man roster to start the season, so he's got between 1.1 and 1.2 million in pocket already.

He also made between 1.5 and 2 million from NIL money while at UGA.

He's in excellent financial shape even if he never plays a snap in the NFL. Hell, I'd have killed to have made 3 million dollars in my career at age 26. I think most everyone here would have loved to have that head start on their lives too.

Bennett has no worries financially. Even should he retire tomorrow, he'll be able to get a six figure job doing sports radio or local advertising in Athens for the rest of his life. All the people with the "bagging groceries" or "mowing lawns" comments are just showing jealousy at a guy who's on-field performance has put him in a position where he's on easy street.

I don't know. Drunks and the women who will target them can go through a whole lot of money very fast. A lot richer athletes than he is ATM have ended up broke.
