Yes, but a legacy program is not going to hire him straight from Troy. They'll watch him and see how he does at a mid tier program like State.

The offense isn’t the only problem. Defense has been atrocious

State has no talent. That’s the problem.

Sumrall is a great coach, he would do well at State, hell Ole Miss may want him when Kiffin inevitably jumps ship. Hopefully he waits for better jobs than those two.

Our classes since 2019 have been ranked 24th to 28th consistently so that’s not true at all

I'm glad all of you Rebels are so concerned about State's NIL. Y'all have no idea about our NIL. Keep reading Elitedawgs and listening to Coach34 and his agenda. Talk about obsessed.

This is smart. 2 reasons, one gives you a head start on picking your replacement, two, it doesn't give Arnette the chance to upset Ole Miss and potentially throwing a wrench in things, especially if you've already decided ZA is not the long term guy.

If you're afraid of someone pulling a rabbit out of a hat, you just take away the hat.

It's also a pretty good year to hire a coach. There won't be many major jobs open. Michigan State's open. Maybe Michigan if Harbaugh moves on, maybe Florida. The other openings for jobs will be in places that State can compete with: Syracuse, Indiana, etc.

I think you have confused concerned and laughing at. If y’all don’t get it figured out y’all are about to be Vandy. I find it hilarious.

What a miserable game with both fan bases tired of their coaches.

I wish today would be Brandon Walker's last day with any kind of a public platform

Why didn’t MSU hire a coach who knew how to run the air raid O? This year set State
back for years. Arnett had no business being hired.

1. Because it was idiotic to do a complete 180 away from the air-raid when your entire team was recruited to run the air-rade.

2. Their defense has been dogshit too, and that's supposed to be his specialty.

He honestly never should have been hired in the first place. Fortunately for them, he'll be cheap to get rid of

NIL can be fixed overnight. It's getting the hucklebucks on the same page with a hire that's a problem.

He doesn't want to be head coach. He wasn't going to turn the opportunity down, but he misses defense.

Because we didn't have an athletic director when Leach died, we overreacted went with Arnett and he though his way of doing things would be best and he has found out he was dead wrong. he essentially is a glorified one year interim who saw our program regress from a 9 win team to a team struggling to get to 5 wins assuming we can beat Southern Miss

Don't they pretty much have the same exact team that won 8 or 9 games last year? Including the Egg Bowl?

Firing Leachs whole staff was a stroke of genius, I know this because jeanspage repeatedly boasted of the coaching upgrade this year on both offense and overall coaching

Seriously, you can’t fire Arnett after one year, the man deserves a chance to install his vision for the program. He’s blue collar tough and just gets it.
