I don't think any UF fan is especially pleased with how this season is going

General consensus was we were going 6-6 or 7-5 this year based on schedule alone.

Losing to UGA was expected, beating UT unexpected. I think in retrospect the Utah and UK losses might have been expected but we probably should have had better showings.

Next year's schedule is tough too but that's going to be a big moment for Napier - he has to show improvement on the field. I think we're set up well, though. We have a young offense really coming into their own, Mertz returns to mentor a hopefully talented frosh, second year with Austin Armstrong at DC.

But at this seat his seat is room temp.

I believe what could potentially warm his seat up this off-season is if he refuses to change and upgrade certain things: if he continues to be the OC, continues to not have an official ST coordinator, keeps Sale/Stapleton, etc.

Those types of mistakes are what ultimately killed Muschamps, MacElwain, and Mullen (Champ couldn't let go of meddling with the offense, Mac couldn't fire Nussmeier, Mullen couldn't fire Hev & Grantham).

I do think that Napier will make those changes, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I don't disagree at all. I think we might be a little better than expected. And I am not writing any of the games we have left on the schedule off, even though I know we will be the underdog in 3 of them.

But I am never going to be pleased with 5-3 staring down a 6-6/7-5 season. These kind of seasons suck. But I understand it and I'm not going to be calling for Napier's head about it.
