When you see Devo out there doing those things, he isn’t trying to make a highlight reel he is trying to win. He cares about winning more than anything else. Occasionally he will do things that are bad ideas in hindsight or are poorly executed but at no point was it ever out of doing anything other than what he thinks gives us the best chance to win. This is why Muss loves him so much, that level of intensity will lose you games but it is what you have to have to win championships.

It's literally night and day watching basketball in a close game as opposed to football

. ISWYDT. You said it. But it’s true. These games can be thrilling/annoying bc there will be times where we’re clicking and it feels like we’ll shoot ourselves in the foot or something, but when it comes to crunch time - winning a tight top 15 matchup against the team with the reigning POY and limiting him to what we did says A LOT. That’s why I love Musselman - he’s like the only coach we’ve had since Nolan or BP with the “pick yourself up and FINISH!!!” Mentality and actually gets the desired results. Losing close games, oh I don’t know, 4 years in a row shows that you’re not capable of handling it and don’t have the fortitude to level up.

Devo always gonna Devo. But I’ve seen him save our asses in the tournament enough times to love Good Devo and accept that Bad Devo is just a guy trying his hardest to not back down and win. If we saw him taking too many shots, etc. I’d have more to bitch about. But he’s all Hog and all Team. He’s absolutely a crucial piece to our team and I’m going to miss him when he’s gone.

Devo gets a pass bc he almost single handedly willed us to a win over Kansas last year.

Y’all that don’t like it can kick rocks. He’s all Hog

Exactly. Our team would have failed without his leadership and tenacity last year - even if he wasn’t as touted or “talented” as some of those freshman. When the game was on the line he was the one dropping dimes and shutting opponents down. I just hope he gets some good dunk opportunities - reminds me a bit of Sydney Moncrief when he goes up for the two hand on a fast break.

That's when black marker face Muss makes appearances. He's usually in such a fever pitch with going over plays on the white board during a game, he'll erase old stuff off the white board and then he touches his face and transfers the black marker from the white board to his face.

Someone must've told him about it, because I never saw him sport black marker face last year, but he had it a lot season before last.

Muss is as intense as a sack full of cats. So glad we have him.

I really hope there’s no “2-6 WTF we suck” stretch of this season.

I know he'd play good down the stretch last year but this team is better without Devo out there.

Best defender on the team. Remember when he shut Matt Mcclung down? What about the game winner against Oral Roberts? What bout the Kansas game?

So 3 games? Listen, I'm not saying the kid sucks. He's had some really good games but what I'm saying is with the talent we have this year there are better options than him and we look better with them.

We got cool weather - actual fall-like - and basketball in one weekend and won a close game as opposed to the outcomes in another sport. We may not be the sports gods least favorite school. I know they don’t have anything to do with the weather but it fits together nicely so I went with it.

Always thought the Jets were the NFL equivalent of cursed that we were, but this is hard to argue.
