The scarier part is that mock also has Griffen 1st round at 15 for 2025

Sears is going to come down to whether he is ready to go play ball in Europe or grind the G-League now or wants to try and win the whole thing next year. He isn't going to improve his draft stock any, though.

Nelson, on the other hand, has a pretty clear opportunity to make giant strides in his draft stock. Defensively, playing a full year in this system with confidence, add some weight, more consistent outside shooting. So many things that he missed out on in his first 3 years elsewhere that he can improve to supplement his game and make himself into a possible lottery pick.

I disagree. Sears has shown his work ethic is ridiculous and could improve stock coming back. Every game they detailed how he increased his 3pt%. If he can find the right way to develop into a near elite defender he can play his way into a late first round pick.

This is a REALLY bad draft and Griffen has a lot of 3 and D potential. I could absolutely see him going mid 1st. He is maybe my favorite player from this years team and of course I’d love to see him stay. But a 1st round pick you have to take and it’s ultimately great for the program. It’s why all these 5 stars and transfers want to come here.

That would be nice, I'm just not sure he has anything else physically to add defensively other than sustained focus and intensity and not letting off offense effect his defense. But I do think there is a real chance he just loves it here and wants to take one more ride (and that he is compensated well for that, too).

Rylan feels a lot like Keon to me. You can see what it will look like if and when he consistently gets it all together, but it's just showing up in spurts right now. Keon developed that consistency in the G-League and is now a league regular. I think Rylan could finally find it next season, but I'd be a little surprised if a team took a guaranteed salary pick on him this year. He is exactly the type of guy teams want to use 2nd round picks on, though.

Maybe but they’re saying this could be one of the worst drafts in history. The first several picks are going to be foreign guys and everyone else will be picking guys they hope they can turn into something. Some late round and 2nd round guys are going to go way earlier than you’d expect.

Bediako might want to reenter

An NBA team isn’t going to draft an undersized Guard that will be 23 in the 1st round. For reference, Brunson went in the 30’s and I think was a couple years younger. It’s him either getting a big NIL bag from us and wanting to become our all time great or just try his luck in the draft and play pro somewhere. His stock won’t be any higher after this March run.

Bama finishes 4th in the Coaches Poll, same as last year. Finished 5th two years before that.

In other words, Bama has finished in the top 5 in the coaches poll in 3 of the last 4 years.

Damn!

Another fun fact, Bama played the toughest schedule in the 24 year history of KenPom metrics.

The minimum salary is 1.1M for free agency. The 30th pick in the draft is 2M. He certainly could exceed NIL, and rather easily at that

Europe gets a little dicier, he’s looking at 100-500K (probably on the upper end). That’s an actual NIL debate

So the story appears to be that Kentucky did speak to Nate.... and had no problem with the 18 million. He went to Byrne and got more money from his assistants and a higher NIL commitment from the boosters who came through. He didn't ask for.any additional money for himself.

Sorry of this has been posted.
