I am not sure a second round pick gets much of a deal in the NBA. I dont follow the NBA much but it seems a number of the lottery picks come from Europe. Does Bama have NIL money for BB and what kind of dollars would it be. I assume we want to keep Griff and Wrightsell as well. Losing a few of our big men who cant shot the rock would not be a huge concern. Keeping 15 would be Yuge but he had no presence in the Uconn game.

We're about to find out what our basketball NIL program is made of.

I think we might see both a positive and negative side to this run. Sears and Nelson are going to get significant looks from the NBA when they otherwise would have more likely been back. Our incumbents are going to want bigger deals, and we already spent a lot on this incoming class not including the portal. Having said all that, I think we also will see more NIL money come in as well as increased interest for those that want to compete for championships while improving their draft stock.

Any word on another Yea Alabama blitz for the basketball team? Would love to keep the momentum going

Sears and Nelson are also both coming from different situations.
Sears is the hometown kid who became a big name throughout the season and got a lot of hype during the tournament. The dude could become a Bama legend if he returns and would also get a nice NIL payday, not just from collectives, but I would imagine quite a few endorsements. His choice is pretty tough, I imagine if he gets a 2nd round grade he may just strike while the iron is hot.
Nelson is a completely different story. The dude wants out of school, he made this apparent last year when he didn't get the draft grade he wanted and committed to Alabama based on his evaluations and where he could go to improve. If anyone gives him a draftable grade, he's gone. If it wasn't for the tournament run he definitely would be back, just look at his quotes last night, he's saying Bama is his worst-case scenario.
I'm not going to lose any sleep over anyone else. I haven't been a big fan of Pringle or Wague, Cosby I have a few questions about, Walters is a 4 year guy and has a lot of improving left to do, I imagine Griffen and Wrightsell are back, and Stevenson needs another year here.

I would not be surprised if all of our players who have eligibility left test the portal waters to see what kind of money is out there. I would think Nelson, Sears, Wrightsell and Stevenson would be the top players for NIL deals.

Saw this on twitter on a post about how Muss had pissed off some of Arkansas boosters. The question is how much of ours is allocated to basketball…but I imagine the NIL tournament we are in will help tremendously

So the collective is total and who gets to decide how much goes to which sport etc

Just read this. If correct, the final 4 exposure plus the revenue influx has to help boost our program…hopefully this translates to a larger NIL budget also.
Revenue for the men's college basketball Final Four schools:
University of Connecticut — $24.1 million
University of Alabama — $19.0 million
Purdue University — $18.9 million
North Carolina State University — $15.4 million

Besides Sears and Nelson….the tampering for Rylan Griffin is gonna be crazy.

Idk. Griffen looks like an elite defender.

The Stevenson family is not interested in NIL. Most of Stevenson's family members were former basketball players, and Stevenson's father earned a large salary while playing professionally overseas for 20 years. They want Stevenson to develop into an NBA player and advance to the NBA as quickly as possible. That's why their top priorities are playing time and development.

I would think Sears would have quite a bit of marketability outside of just the university collective if he comes back. I would have to imagine he will be Preseason Sec Player of the year on just about every list. Quite likely he would be a Preseason first team All American as well.

I got to watch a Florida State Uconn scrimmage before the Covid year. Danny Hurley was screaming at refs , spectators , FSU coaches and players the entire time. He's an elite basketball coach but he is a frickin punk of the highest order that needs an arse whipping. Some player is gonna swing on that bitch one of these days.
