Yes. Every player but Estrada technically has eligibility left. With the incoming freshmen and us working the portal that lets me know we expect at least a bit of a shake up. The biggest thing with Nelson if he returns will be strength with the ball.

He will always have that UNC game and be legendary for that. But being 6’10” you have to be a little bit stronger when you go get a rebound or body someone up for a dunk/layup. Part of that is roster management. I think ideally we’d have had him as a big arse 3 but we had to play him at 4 and 5 wayyyy more than we wanted.

Franchise” players I’m okay with leaving. It’s the fringe guys that are good in college that get to me… I.e., Bediako

If I recall correctly, Bediako couldnt get NIL, at least to the degree other players did because he was Canadian. That factored in him leaving

We have absolutely no idea who will be back and who won’t. This time last year everyone assumed Q and Bediako would be back. Can’t assume anything.

Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if both Nelson and Sears left. They both had a really good tournament and this is a weak draft. Maybe they think they can sneak in the 2nd round

I think Nelson is the type of 4 you want to pair with a dirty work five that eats up boards and protects the rim.

Sorta like what the Mavs always did with their 5s next to Dirk.

Needed more more big man all year. They got too many layups and dunks, they had over 20 assists. Like I stated all week, we could have easily won this game, UCONN is nowhere near GOAT team.

When they should have gotten a tech, we get 2 xtra free throws and used to get the ball, I do not know if they have changed that lately, I used to think that was too severe.

Anyway, that could have given is a lead late, they hit shots late. And they got the refs calls early, notice after they got a lead the refs quit calling fouls, maybe we had to stop playing hard and let them get easy baskets because of foul trouble. No way we should have been down at half, those refs were one sided, and git our men in foul trouble, 2 fouls early is foul trouble.

We played hard, Oats got the most out of this team, we were in it 3/4th of the way. Just not quite good enough on defense to overcome their inside game. Good season, I think recruits watching that will want to come give Bama a look see.

I would think that Sears will be a million dollar college player next year. The question will be is are we willing to do that, because he is going to be approached

Honestly I feel Sears stays. I think we get him a decent NIL and he’s playing at his dream school.

We will see. I won’t hold it against him. He was brilliant for us.

Sears isn’t playing college ball anywhere else but here. But he’s had a fantastic season and a good tourney. His stock is as probably as high as it’s going to get. His limitations aren’t going to change by coming back another year. I’d like to see him stay but I think at the end of the day he probably goes.

I don't think Sears has much of a career in the NBA to be quite honest.

He's probably a second rounder but some notable guards have made big impacts as second rounders. I think he projects as an overseas player if he wanted to keep playing ball. So I think a big NIL payday to lead likely a loaded team at the school he rooted for growing up makes a ton of sense for him.

I wouldn't count that chicken before it's hatched. Every college agent in the business is going to tell him to make money now because he isn't going to be drafted. I think he would take a discount for Alabama, but it's still going to require a healthy NIL to keep a 2nd team All American Senior

I don’t blame him for leaving.

I want Nelson back though. He flashed ability and knocks down free throws. No knock to Pringle but if we had a true bigger 5 Nelson’s numbers would look different. We didn’t seal as much when he went 1:1 at least in this game. He would back down and then take a tough shot at the rim with Clangin in his face.

My point being, we are going to have to pay Sears. Obviously he wants be here, but it's going to be a bidding contest even if he isn't involved he is going to be getting it offers from other blue bloods
