I’d like to keep him a secret but all of the basketball coaches probably already do the analytics at some level.

I was referring to Oats. I know the article is about the analytics guy, but Oats and his journey getting here is pretty awesome

I've convinced myself we win.

We play a style that will bother them, and these boys have been told all week that we will lose by 30. 82-77 Bama

John Henson on Field of 68 completely changed his tune last night after watching Bama practice. All week he'd called for a blowout, and now thinks Bama can play with them. Said Bama was way bigger and more athletic than he realized. Said it doesn't come across on TV.

This game has upset written all over it. This is Alabama Basketball's equivalent of 92 Alabama vs Miami in football.

Not only is Alabama going to win, they are going to run UCONN off the court. Shooters, shoot and Alabama will rain threes down in Phoenix.

Alabama 104
UCONN 73

BOOK IT!!!!

Would be a good option for a Miles College?

IMG? The rumor I saw is they're looking at the Birmingham-Southern Campus.

I won't be posting much today. But while I've got data service, i had to drop in to give a Roll frickin' Tide.

I actually just saw Nate Oats and his family over here at my campground. They were nice enough to let me take a picture.

I just saw Kristin Saban at my hotel, I haven’t seen him, I assume he is here. My wheels are spinning, I should have played golf today as well. Think I’m going to hit the spa or something lol.

Over on the uconn board, most of them are predicting us to score in the 60's. I think they're in for a rude awakening.

I think that is unlikely. It would have to be an epic meltdown.

GCU held us to 72, so it’s not out of the realm of possibilities (even in a win). If you look at UConn’s points given up, more often then not it’s less than 70, even against good teams.

Last I checked, Vegas had us projected at 73 to 74 points, so not crazy to think the game could have cold shooters in the football stadium and end up 5-10 points below Vegas expectations.

That said, if they do keep us under 70, we just need to hold them to 1 point less than us with our not so secret weapon analytics guy helping us hold them to 0.84 in the most surprising defensive performance in Bama basketball history!

Find a way, any way, and let’s win this!!!

Last year when we played Uconn we lost by 15. The game was tied with 9 minutes left.

We had 21 turnovers.

I actually think a game in the 70’s favors us. I actually think a high scoring game could resemble the Kentucky game or Florida games

We're going to have to run like crazy to get open threes. If we can do that without all the turnovers we have a good shot.

Ucon plays slow. and they play good defense. Zero chance its high scoring.

I have successfully talked myself into Bama winning today.

I think there's a better shot than what a lot of media members are giving us credit for but hey that's why we play the games.

I think we're going to need a big performance from Grant Nelson tonight, he's going to have to hit a couple 3's and make the UConn bigs uncomfortable guarding on the perimeter.

Push the pace and make them run, more possessions means more shots. Get the shots up early before the defense has a chance to set. I think defensively we just try and set them up to take perimeter shots and hope they stay shooting relatively cool They're probably going to eat us alive on the glass.
