Need to win today. You have Charleston and Grand Canyon, you have to make the Sweet 16. Next week would be house money. But we have to win today.

Mo D and Mo W will both be at the end of their Ramadan fast at tipoff. They will be feeling pretty sluggish. They should be able to get a snack/sip of water at halftime. I'm curious if Oats takes that into account for this game.

I certainly hope he took it into consideration last game by playing them as much as he could so he could rest the others.
If he didn't he isn't nearly as sharp as he is being given credit for.

GCU only has a 7 man rotation, so we can tire them out if we impose our pace.
My concern is that we've struggled with athleticism and length all year, and they have a lot of it. Their starters are all taller than 6'4. They have the length to help on defense while still defending the 3 pt line.
We need to drive and force fouls, thin out their rotation.
MoD and Griffin need to be on TGF. Wrightsell is a good defender, but he gives up several inches to TGF.

a) I said if. Certainly wasn't acting we are going to easily win. After all, their athleticism and length are exactly what we've struggled against. But pace can only help us.
b) SDSU was allowed to be incredibly physical last year. Which means they dictated the pace. Hopefully, refs don't call it quite that loose this year.
C) GCU wants to run too, but we have more depth to do so. I think we have an advantage if both teams are pushing it. If they do so, it will play into our strengths over 40 minutes. I would not be surprised if we get down by 12-15, then dig our way out and win by 6-8 points.

The only team from a 5/12 matchup that is allowed to win today is JMU. SDSU and GCU must hang up their dancing shoes today (although it would be pretty funny if we win and SDSU beats Yale by 30).
