Too bad Sears wasnt this good last year when we had 3 good inside players.
Nelson was a no show again last night.

Our shot charts against bad defenses are flawless. We have a really, really good coach.

While we may not matchup well with GCU, this is about as good as it gets for a chance to equal/surpass our best 4 years of basketball history.

Imo Bama matches up well with GC. Both teams are athletic but Bama shoots better. Plus we do have some defenders we can throw at them and we use more players than them.

They are a decent team imo.

I agree. You should definitely pick them to win

We just need to play physical and the guards need to get involved with defensive rebounding because our big men need all the help they can get.

This dude was awful last night. Rebounds were hitting him in the face and he still couldn't come down with it.

GCU-BAMA can easily be an all-time game.

We're winning obviously but the score will probably be near the 100's

GCU will be tough but their preparation is going to be a challenge. They’ve spent a week getting ready for the slowest team in the tournament and now they have basically a day to get ready for the fastest.

I’d like to see us get rebounds earlier in the game. Too many missed early against Charleston.

The players defending Grant-Foster are Wrightsell and Griffen.
Dioubate defends PF.

Wrightsell would be giving up 4+ inches and a lot of length/athleticism in that matchup. Griffen is going to have to stay out of foul trouble and play a lot tomorrow night. In fact, I'd have his minutes paired with Grant-Foster's while he's not in foul trouble (Grant-Foster goes out, Rylan comes out and vice versa).

After him though, Dioubate would definitely be the second best choice to guard him. We could do a lineup where Dioubate and Sam come in (Sam guards the 4 and Mo on Grant-Foster).

Something interesting Oats said in the press conference after the game (paraphrasing):

A lot of people compare this team to the team from two years ago because they both struggle on defense but these guys love playing with each other.

He seems to be suggesting the 2022 team didn't have a strong connection with one another.

I would love to hear from any of the people downvoting this comment on why it isn’t the truth? Nelson had a bad game. He was lost on defense and couldn’t rebound the ball at all.

Hoping he turns it around but games last night aren’t going to be very helpful for the remainder of the season. It was a waste of 15 minutes played IMO.
