@AlabamaFTBL HC @KalenDeBoer is expected to be introduced at the @AlabamaMBB-Mizzou game on Tuesday night. Tip-off is at 6 pm. Be there for our basketball team, be there for Coach Oats & Coach DeBoer, and most importantly…BE LOUD!!!

Nah i think he has more offensive game than Bola. Also he isnt elite as a rebounder like Bola. Mo can be effective as a slasher. He has a better handle and ability around the rim than Bola ever did. But Bola was a Rodman level rebounder.
I see more of a taller, longer Juwan Gary.

Its amazing how much Sears has improved this year. Last year he had maybe 3 games where he went off, one being KY.
This year its almost every game.
This year its almost every game.

probably will end up Quad 2 bc their remaining schedule may drag them down a little
That doesn’t hurt them unless they don’t cover the spread

quote:When I was at UA we had a group of guys who played pickup ball every night and on more than a few occasions a group of the women's players would ask us to play. We were just average dudes and we would always comfortably beat them.
I’ve tried to watch women, but just don’t enjoy it, even great teams. Besides the obvious, why would watching experience be so different from men? Maybe they need a lower goal? I feel the same about tennis.
I love Bama athletics but I don't have any interest in recreationally watching people worse than me at basketball play basketball.

Using the last 10 games filter, we have the #26 defense per Torvik. That goes back to the Clemson game and includes our 3 games of death stretch
We aren’t getting beat at the parameter nearly as much and a few guys have been serviceable as rim protectors. Solid improvement pretty much everywhere leading to a big overall jump
For good reasons, people were concerned and comparing this squad to the frustrating 2022 team. However, at this point that year we were 94th in defensive efficiency and were coming off a loss to Missouri that is arguably the worst of the Oats era. By contrast, we are 48th in defensive efficiency
I’m not saying the defensive wheels won’t come off, but there is good reason for optimism

We probably jumped Illinois, I know we did on KenPom. They lost pretty bad to Maryland the other night, quad 3 loss.

As I feared

Prior to the Saban retirement, the board of trustees were supposed to review and either approve or table the next phase in February. Current estimates unfortunately have risen now to almost $300 million with the design which is just over 10k but loaded with premium fan amenities which are huge revenue generators. That’s why BDS actually went down in seating from the last renovation, but generates more money with the Champions Club and Loge boxes. They are requiring initial donations of $250k per floor seat in the new arena, and they have 170 seats ($42.5 million upfront) for sale. They also have premium packages for the courtside club and concourse club (like Champions Club in FB and .525 Club in baseball) and loge boxes. The arena will make money so the revenue stream will be there.

Yes the huge downside is like the airlines they are chasing first-class and business-class passengers, while the coach and now blue-collar fans, who are the spirit of any program or team, are being financially squeezed out.

The University just raised $1.5B. I don’t understand why they don’t do a capital campaign just for this damn arena. It will probably be raised in a year. This could have been done when they first announced this and we’d be sitting in a new arena by now. All they do is come up with excuses. It’s not going to get cheaper. Just think, your grocery bill hasn’t come down has it?

Bought tics for tomorrow but not looking like that drive is going to happen.

That’ll probably be the case for a lot of people.

Hoping to make it from Birmingham but we will see. Buddy I share my season tickets with is local and can find someone to go in my place, so hopefully there will be a butt in my seat either way.
