It’s always been an insanely top heavy conference, the other conferences were just terribly top heavy as well. This year there’s a lot more parity in the other conferences and 2-3 top 25 teams in each one. Soon OU and Texas will be here to bolster the sec back to the glory days.

I'm sure ou's playoff tradition of running through powder puffs and then getting destroyed wouldn't help the secs image this season.

Not really... or at least not the same teams each year. The SEC has had 5 different teams win a national championship this millenium with a 6th that won it in 1998. No other conference has had the breadth of teams at a national championship level.

The ACC has had FSU, Miami and Clemson. The Big 10 has had OSU and nobody else. Pac 12 has had USC. The big 12 has had OU and Texas.

Next year when Texas and OU join the SEC, 8 of the 13 teams that have won a national championship from 1998 on will be in one conference.
