lots to like about this format imo

For UGA our permanent would be AUB. So in a year where we play the "west" as our pod, where does the extra game come from?

We'd play the 4 other teams in our pod, we'd play the 5 teams in the "west" pod, but since our permanent opponent AUB is in that pod that means we've got 9 SEC teams scheduled instead of 10. Where does the extra game come in?

My plan (of 4x4 pods) had 1 perm in each of the other pods. So, you had all the teams in your pod + 1 from the others = 9.

1-3 your pod
4-6 partnered pod
7-9 perm in other 3 pods

This way it didn't matter who you were paired with, you still had the same format as any other team.

Now, @ 18...I don't know a good plan. @ 20, I'ld have to think about it because (using my plan above) would result in 11 games...meaning UGA (GT) & Kent. (Louisville) would never be able to schedule anybody.

Every team would have a permanent.. in your case.. Auburn..

When you play the West Pod, you would then play a replacement permanent (ie someone from the other 2 pods you aren’t playing)

Everyone would have the same setup.

4 Pod Games
5 Division Games (other pod)
1 Perm or Replacement Perm

I was going to say it initially.. but too much info al at once shuts a lot of people down

FL - FSU / LSU
GA - AUB / OU
AL - TN / TX
OU - CLEM / GA
or something like that
etc etc

Each team plays
your pod 6x in 6 years
your perm 6x in 6 years
your replacement perm 4x in 6 years
all other teams 2x in 6 years
