While I hate that you feel the way you do (that truly sucks) I don’t necessarily agree with you.

While it is harder for a school like Vanderbilt to compete with the Alabama’s of the world, it isn’t impossible. What you need is a system coach.. Mike Leach type.. someone that is a really good football coach and knows how to create advantages when the talent level isn’t the same.

From there, he will need to find and identify the right dudes to run what he wants to run. They don’t have to be 5 star guys. Smart dudes who want to get a great education.

We have high school programs all over Texas like this. It can be done. Just takes the right guy to come along and then you gotta keep him once you find him.

The portal should 100% help Vanderbilt if it is used the right way.

Just my opinion. Perhaps I am wrong.
