Welcome to the SEC, bruh. There are plenty of coaches that have the self-confidence to take a high-major job because they don't expect to lose.

And the $5+ million a year helps too.

If you go back before Pittman and Chad, we literally had 2 coaches that were top tier on paper banging down our door to come here. Petrino was coaching in the NFL and wasn't even on our AD's radar until he had his agents reach out and beg for an interview. Bielema was doing well at Wisconsin and looked like he was going to continue the success of Alvarez, and he reached out to come here too. Deion wanted to come here just a couple years ago, and so did Norvell and Kiffin.

Just because our hires of Chad and Pittman have been underwhelming doesn't mean there isn't an appeal to coaching here. We just have to have the right mindset and be willing to take a risk at the university and AD level.

Something tells me Yurachek will be much more open to loosening the purse strings and going for the big hire this next time around with the SEC expansion, the playoffs expanding, UGA and Bama dynasties dying down, and LSU reeling. I have faith in him that he'll recognize the importance of the situation and he'll go big.

This is a mediocre program, with mediocre financial support/backing from industries, boosters, with mediocre results, with a mediocre NIL,... and Mediocre coaching.

Arkansas is top 10 in the nation in NIL funding. Also in the top 25 in booster money, facilities, donations, and revenues. We have several large corporations with UofA ties throwing money at both the university and athletics, more than the lower 3/4 of SEC teams could ever pull in or dream of.

Money isn't the issue at all.

It's coaching, going cheap on coaching salaries, and a losing/underdog stigma attached to the program that are killing us. The right coach could win and win big here, we just need to lose the "small to mid-tier program" mindset plaguing the program.

Like I previously said, I know Yurachek is a smart man and I fully believe he recognizes what needs to happen to right the ship, and even make gains

Let's consider this scenario, when Muss wins a Natty he'll demand 6mil/yr. DVH wins one in the next year or two he'll need a raise to 2mil.

Now how are the funds to hire a football coach at 7mil?

ETA. And remember we have to buy out Pittman.
