When we hired Lou Holtz we were arguably one of the top 10 best jobs in college football.

We ain't that anymore regardless of how much bluster you want to blow.

Don't misunderstand...I'm sick of watching the product we put out on the field. I don't think Sam is a SEC Head Coach (great guy...great position coach)...I'm just resigned to the reality of our football program not meeting the standards it should. I don't see a mega booster stepping up and funding it...and that is EXACTLY what it would take to buy the coaches and players that teams like TAMU and LSU are buying. It is that simple.

It was a huge mistake to think that building facilities would do it without hiring coaches first. That ship sailed.

And...non of the knuckle draggers who are so sure they could go hire a top coach have convinced me that Arkansas can or will.

That's reality...like it or not.

Lou could game plan with the best of them and won games he shouldn’t have or wasn’t given a chance in.

He had an argument for a natty after the 1978 orange bowl but of course Arkansas was ignored. That’s the closest to a natty we’ve had since Frank but we just couldn’t stop Earl Campbell for all 4 quarters and lost a close one to texas.

As usual, so close but yet so far…….
