Google says: Chicken fried steak has a crispier coating, similar to a fried chicken leg, whereas country fried steak has a darker gravy and less crispy texture. According to Steak School

Country fried is soft and mushy

It is a testament to why ails this nation that going to the google to know the difference between country fried steak and chicken fried steak is a thing. Anyone past the age of 8 who does not know the difference has suffered severe child neglect and their mama and grandmother ought to be ashamed of themselves.
