quote:

Ohio State AD Gene Smith will say the quiet part out loud in today's NIL hearing on the Hill during his testimony.

"A practice of asking a school for a fee to simply visit campus has emerged; asking for $5,000 just to visit has become common."

The players that are asking for money to visit are usually the ones you see alabama, Georgia, lsu,and others not pursue any longer.

The blame lies squarely on Alabama and the NCAA. Cheat with impunity and you get shite like this

Recruits have been paid to visit places for years. They're also paid to not visit places. Nothing new, just above board.

honestly if you take your whole family somewhere for a weekend that's what it costs to do it really comfortably.

not saying they are not pocketing a couple grand too but really it seems very fair to me for asking them to take a whole weekend to come out.

they are asking these kids make football their whole lives, ostensibly.(not that every kid does that but thats what the coaches want)

This crap is not new.

I had a buddy that got $10,000 on a visit to a team from Florida in the 1970's which almost doubled what he had gotten from all the other schools combined. He got total fo about 21 or 22,000 but didn't get a single scholarship offer from any place that he go money.

That's crazy but since Alabama was recruiting him, all these other places wanted to see him and once they did, no offer but he still got paid.

He ended up at Southern Miss and played well for them and got a degree, taught school and coached for many years.

Kids have always gotten paid, it's known now.

If these were white kids making money, no one would care. But people here get jealous when they see 17 year old black kids pocketing a bunch of cash, and baws are scraping the bottom of the barrel to pay their F150 note

.. so give it to em. If you think they're worth it.

How much could the LSU QB get to transfer next year?

Or a couple of the Bama LB's that are great but 2nd string?

Why doesn't Saban put out a chart showing who is 1st string vs 3rd string?
