But I do believe it is a mistake for people to just say, "Georgia has a lot of talent in state!"

While true, we really don't take advantage of it as a whole.

Point taken, but I think I would counter with this: As you and others have pointed out, right now, UGA doesn't have to. They recruit "nationwide." One could easily make the point that Florida and Texas are more talent rich that Ga. UGa has been able to go to these more important areas (mainly Fla) and get players. Roughly 1/3 of the top 20 players in Fla went to UGA last year (6 out of the top 20).

But my original point still stands. 1. (For the most part), Proximity matters. Recruits tend to gravitate to schools close to home. (For a variety of reasons) 2. Compared to the other states in the conference and region, the talent level in SC is not as great as others.

Add it all up and It puts us at a bit of a disadvantage. And that's our lot in life. I think most SC fans know, understand and accept it.

As I told my buddies this week. I don't think SC got out played or out coached last weekend. We got out depth charted. All one has to do is look at time of possession in the 2nd half to see that. And hey, good for UGA. Win however you can. The Russians in WWII along with many other armies across time have proven that a war of attrition is as valid a way to win as any...

I agree that this does hurt SC. That and Clemson being strong recently. Hopefully this changes. Given the choice, I would prefer SC be strong than Clemson. I just like SC more.

No argument at all. Until South Carolina goes on an extended win streak it will be tough. I thought Spurrier might get everything turned around, but y'all just got him at an advanced place in his career. Had you gotten him 10 years earlier we could be having a completely different conversation.

Agree again. The depth definitely took a toll.

What was time of possession in the first half? And UGAs 4th drive got cut short on the playclock.

Time of possession isn't an argument to base your premise on. UGA won both halves.
