instead another preseason UGA game? Back when college football was in its prime there was rarely a bad matchup. maybe the game didnt pan out close but not duds like this. I mean for a 2x Defending national champion its remarkable how little interest the country has in georgia. Texas super bowl celebration showed that Bama is still the standard for now in the minds of all the coaches and players. That would probably go away if our wheels fall off this season but for now its still that way. Its strange georgia is a more accomplished program now but was much more interesting under Richt.

Weren't the first 3 weeks decided on this summer? SC was supposed to be decent.

It's not UGA's fault the Cocks failed to rise to the occasion when it was thought they'd be a good team this year.

I agree with you that these early-season schedules are a joke and really hurt interest in the sport.
Michigan has played East Carolina, UNLV, and now Bowling Green to start the season. If you're a fan of the team, how do you not start to lose interest? Especially when the next four games are Rutgers, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Indiana?

Blame it on sec schedule makers
This was always the Fla Tenn weekend marquee game but it seems like every year for last 15 years one of the teams is pretty bad
LSU Auburn used to be an early season sec game as well but they moved that one

CBS has always scheduled the top team in the SEC as many times as they can. I think CBS can show any school up to 5 times. So as long as UGA is #1, they will appear on CBS likely 4 more times. UGA/UF is always on CBS, I think UGA/TENN will be on CBS, and when CBS does a double header, even if UGA is not the prime time game, they will be the lead in game at 2:30 for the CBS prime time game.
UGA/UK or UGA/Ole Miss could be another game that gets CBS 2:30

No one expected USCjr to get nuked from orbit by the Heels in Week 1.

There may have been 30,000 people still in the stadium by the middle of the third quarter of last year's game. Odd selection!

That one is partly Auburn fault. Traded LSU for UGA so it will balance the home and away games. But SEC messed it up with last expansion by putting UGA at Auburn twice to screw up the home and away balance.

I saw some rando on Twitter post a letter to CBS to not pick Auburn vs UGA so ESPN could pick it up for a night game.

This season is gonna get weird, it already has a little and the vibe is very underdog friendly so far. If Directional carolina can stop the run and uga comes out flat. Could be a rock fight, and those are always 50/50. This tenner and clemson will be Directional Carolinas game they go all in for. 38 24. Uga pulls away late

N
UNC was favored in the game, so yes, a lot of people thought SC would lose the game. But, i dont think it has been determined that SC is no good after one game.

quote:yes but LSU State and more so TN/Fla would be a much better choice. hell i still consider UT/FLA a big rivalry game and wouldnt suprised if florida won this year
