Sure hate it for him after working his way into the weekend rotation and preseason hype he was receiving … blow to the team for sure

It’s definitely a big blow for the team, and I hate it for him. Big shoes to fill, and hopefully someone steps up. Any predictions? Greg?

That would be my guess based on what we’ve seen so far

We struck out 11 times?

Miller, LeBron & Hayslip accounted for 8 of them. McCants, Sleight and Hodo each had one.

Alabama baseball used some late offense to pull away from Middle Tennessee for a 6-1 win on Tuesday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. With the victory, the Crimson Tide is now 4-0 on the season.

Alabama gained an early advantage with a two-run third inning, but the lead was soon cut in half when Middle Tennessee got on the board with one run in the fourth. The Tide bounced right back with a run in the fifth before adding a single tally in the seventh followed by a two-run eighth to pull away for the 6-1 final.

The two-run eighth was highlighted by back-to-back home runs from Bryce Eblin and Gage Miller. Eblin led the Crimson Tide offense, spotting the stat sheet with a 2-for-3 showing that included a triple, the homer, one RBI, a walk, one stolen base and a team-high three runs scored. Also homering was TJ McCants, with the senior adding a walk, one run and a team-leading three RBI.

Alabama's pitching staff was outstanding once again. Greg Farone got the start, tossing 2.2 scoreless frames with a walk and five strikeouts before turning it over to the bullpen. Zane Probst was first out followed by Austin Morris (1-0), who earned the win with 3.0 scoreless innings and four punchouts compared to only one hit. Braylon Myers then closed things out for his first save of the season, tossing 2.0 scoreless with one hit and three strikeouts.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"Greg Farone was great, and Zane Probst competed his tail off for us. Austin Morris was also great, and then Braylon Myers came in and was outstanding. When you throw the ball like that, it gives your offense a chance when you're trying to find your way a little bit, it gives you some time. This wasn't the game where you go out and score 15 and bully someone off the field, but it was a really competitive game, and we'll take the win."

In other Tuesday news, Mississippi State loses to Austin Peay, Vandy loses to Dayton and #1 Wake Forest loses to UNC Greenville.

(adding Arkansas, Tennessee Ole Miss, Missouri and Florida with early season losses as well)

We just need to keep winning.

I think there will be great opportunity for a one seed this season.

We have legit pitching and power throughout the lineup. We added some serious speed as well.

Free admission to baseball with a basketball ticket. No “listen” link posted by UA so far but I’m sure it’s available on the Varsity app.

these are surprising losses. Lemonis will be gone at the end of the year if they don't turn their program around.

12-0 now. McCants added 2 more RBIs I think. That’s 6 for him today

A pair of big innings powered Alabama baseball to a 12-0 win over Alabama State on Wednesday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. With the victory, the Crimson Tide improves to 5-0 on the year.

Both teams were held scoreless through the first three innings before Alabama was able to break the stalemate. The Crimson Tide rallied for a seven-run fourth and a five-run fifth, all the offense needed in the run-rule victory.

The offense was led once again by TJ McCants and Bryce Eblin. McCants registered a six-RBI showing, finishing 2-for-3 with a grand slam, one run and a walk to go with his RBI. Eblin contributed three RBI of his own, part of a 2-for-3 effort that included a walk and two runs scored.

Alabama's pitching was stellar once again, posting its second shutout effort of the season. Zane Adams (1-0) got the start, giving up one hit and walking a pair while striking out two for the win. He was followed by a collection of three arms in Matthew Heiberger, Pierce George and Jansen Kenty who combined for four strikeouts to ensure the shutout victory.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"This was a good night to get going, a good night for our fifth win. I know the score is a crooked number up there, but we just need to keep growing as a group. We did enough tonight, which was good, and it all started with Zane Adams on the mound. We got to see a flash of what he's capable of in that role and what he's going to be. There's a lot of things to be excited about with him and all of our young players."
