. I think the VAST majority of SC fans in real life, without a message board e-agenda, would put us #2.
it's Tennessee and it's not close - Georgia was a complete shite-show when Carolina entered the SEC - Tennessee was not. Carolina & Georgia had also played regularly for the past few decades so it wasn't anything different for us to play UGA yearly.

Tennessee anointed themselves are #2 on our most hated in 1992 - with an unforgettable group of loud mouth loons who descended upon Columbia as though they invented football - and left with a loss and Johnny Majors soon without a job -

the Carolina-Tennessee series was filled with grueling moments and near misses for USC until Spurrier beat Fulmer in 2007 largely killing the UTK program and changing Gamecock fortunes in the series -

it's Tennessee -

Georgia is a long-standing border feud that comes and goes in a week each fall - we hate Tennessee 24/7/365 much like we hate the Upstate school 24/7/365.

Apparently there is one SC fan who thinks otherwise. He's in the minority of SC fans I know.

I mean really? Clemson is #1 and it's not close.

Many Gamecocks may put UGA at #2 by themselves or lump in UGA, UT, and UF as one kind group of schools we consider rivals but far below Clemson.

Historically, UNC might have come in at #2 and for Gamecocks living in the state I'm sure it still is. But it's been so long since we've played them regularly it doesn't mean as much to younger fans on either side of the border other than having bragging rights over the other team with Carolina in the name.

UGA is 19-12 since USC joined the SEC and Has been beaten by UT 3 more times than they have been beaten by UGA in that time frame. The reason that USC fans do not consider UGA as big a rival, and they are correct, is because UGA has been whipping USC's arse for over 100 years. SC has played Georgia 70 times and has a dismal winning % of .237. They have played UT 41 times and have a slightly better winning % at .268. They have played North Carolina 58 times and have a winning % of .344 and have played Clemson 113 times and have a winning % of .363. Next to Clemson UGA is the team USC has played the most in their history and, of teams they have played more than 10 times, they have the worst record against LOL.. that is why USC does not consider UGA a rival and certainly why UGA does not consider USC a rival...because the game has been played many, many times and the result is almost always the same, South Carolina goes slinking home with a whipped arse.
