The truth is two fold. Corso still wants to be out there. Everyone involved with that show loves him.

Everyone on the show covers for him, they give him the layup comments and questions, and the regulars all defer to him. Corso is legendary for being a nice guy behind the scenes, everyone's beloved uncle/grandpa/great grandpa.

Nobody wants to ease him out the door because he still loves what he is doing. The ratings aren't in a free fall (well anymore than all of cable's ratings are in a free fall) so the Gameday production is fine doing this.

If ESPN suddenly declared Corso is shite canned I guarantee you Herbie would pitch a fit and their audience (already growing smaller by the day) would respond negatively. So you keep him out there, you don't tire him out, and you keep things rolling as best you can.

ESPN egg basket is the ACC and SEC yet SECN is not in the SEC footprint (ATL and NASH both work). ATL has the airport and NASH has the talent. Desmond, Herbie, Corso, etc are all B1G guys. If ESPN wants to pump the ratings getting real SEC Baws would probably help.

Replace Corso with OBC
Replace Desmond with Shaq
Replace Herbie with Peyton
