We suck on offense and defense and Napier sucks at the portal i don't believe he lasts much longer at Fla.

His scheme on offense and defense is no good. I don't think giving him another year will help anything.

I would have liked to see better rushing numbers, but they kinda crowded the box and dared Weigman to beat them with his arm, which he did.

Special teams looked good.

I also would have liked to have seen a better pass rush, but I think Durkin might have been going somewhat vanilla other than DeBerry's blitz/sack. Aside from their one touchdown run, I thought the DL maintained good gap discipline.

The secondary gave up some short perimeter passes and slants, but were able to keep everything in front of them and not give up big plays.

Overall, it was a A- performance against a D- team, so we really don't know a whole lot other than Stewart, Moose, Thomas, and Smith might be one of the best WR groups in the nation.

The Gators, Clem's-sons, South Carolina and LSU all look like the Our Lady of Grace All Catholic Girl's School for the Blind.

UGA, Bama slept walked through cream puffs. (Yawn)...

All the second tier teams in the SEC ran up the score on a bunch of highschool teams to try and impress the media and pollsters.

Same as it ever was. Nothing's really changed.

Offense should not be an issue as long as Dart is dialed in
Defense needs get to point of attack quicker.

My honest assessment is the pieces are there to make a serious run if we can get it all the gel by week 4 or 5. Otherwise headed for 8/4.

Honestly?

VU is a 10.5 underdog to Wake Forest.

WF will cover that easily.

I know you couldn’t tell much from playing UMass, but I do think we have a much better offensive line we than last year.

Responds with LSU, males and ejaculating.

Checks out.

A&M beat a team they were supposed to, probably would have beat them last year but not as badly and would have with a crap ton of penalties on the offensive side due to slow play calling. Also this year, the OC had a wild idea to use our receivers deep down the feel, it was a nice change from years past

The majority of the first 3 quarters went pretty well. After that everybody decided to just chill, O and D just laid down. Very strange really. Still a ton of ?

It was alright.

We scored touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams.

Offense - New transfer QB had some promising throws but also made some questionable decisions. At times he just seemed out of sync.

Running game was decent but unimpressive most of the day. Ray Davis the transfer from Vandy displayed some really impressive vision and cutbacks but it didn't really feel like we were opening a clean path.

Offensive line - run blocking was average at best. Pass blocking, we only gave up one sack which is a vast improvement on last year.

Special teams Barion Brown returned a kick for a TD. Punts looked solid and our new transfer kicker was a perfect 3/3 including a 46 yarder. Long snapper didn't have any bad snaps (it was a frequent problem last year)

Defense looked aggressive. Pretty solid play although it took a while for them to wake up and start laying the lumber.

All in all cautiously optimistic. A lot of the problems from last year are improved, hopefully we clean the rest up.

Yep....my big takeaway was the offense seemed out of sync and we need to get that fixed. OL was improved but still has work to do.

Was generally pleased with the D and definitely happy with ST.

Our offense was clicking. We scored 50+ for the first time in a while.

Our Defense was great but they didn't gel like the offense did. We have a really good D-Line but the Secondary isn't doing as hot and made some blunders (although this sounds like me bitching about nothing).

Overall our preformance against NM was better than expected and we beat the spread!

Next week is the true test but what I saw so far, I'm feeling good. If we win next week, I think we're set for a nice season (hopefully)

Both coordinators are new, so I was looking more at mistakes/ improvements than an overmatched WCU.

We lined up on time, didn't commit drive killing boneheaded penalties, solid clock mgt, an actual secondary, offensive efficiency, receivers adjusting to ball... all costly crap we never figured out last year.

Not sure we learned anything related to how we'll match up athletically in SEC play, but if all we do is improve the list above, we'll win a game or two we dropped last year.

Offense appears to be beat up. McConkey, Edwards, Rosemey Jack Saint, Milton (gimpy).

QB looks nervous and like he’s still thinking too much.
OL didn’t get much push.
RB depth is going to be an issue.
DL is not up to standard of last two years, but LBs are.
Secondary might be the best we’ve ever had.

We didn’t look lost. Everyone was where they were supposed to be. This is a very young football team and I expect them to get better as the season goes on.

Really? It was atrocious. Losing isn't the issue. We looked totally inept against an Utah team that wasn't even full strength.

This O line is going to be a problem. I thought the biggest issue would be depth but the starters were getting pushed around. That's far from the best d line they'll see all year.
