Partially because some of the LR people are mad that they are slowly taking games away from that dump of a stadium nestled in the hood. We are losing money everytime they play there. While other teams like Bama and Ole Miss moved games back to campus years ago we gave LR games far longer than we should have. I get the history but that was back when it was a decent stadium in a decent area. I grew up in LR and hate going there now. In the past we needed central Arkansas because that is where the majority of the population lived. That is not the case anymore. 2024 will be the last game played there

Ya, Im not a huge fan of neutral site or offsite games anymore, not just college football, but the nfl games and such as well.

For sports that have a preseason its fine, but id rather keep the home game.

I get the criticism that the stadium is older and hasn't been updated to match other SEC facilities. I don't get the criticism of the area the stadium is in. Anyone who thinks WMS is located in "the hood" or "the ghetto" clearly hasn't spent much time in urban areas.

The stadium is bordered to the west by the old golf course, to the south by the zoo, to the east by a hospital, and to the north by a neighborhood which, while older, I wouldn't consider to be "the hood" or "the ghetto."

Here are some links to homes currently listed for sale on Zillow within walking distance of the stadium:

* 6 minute walk to stadium
* 7 minute walk to stadium
* 8 minute walk to stadium
* 10 minute walk to stadium

Again, I get that the stadium is old and outdated, especially compared to the renovated stadium in Fayetteville, and that we lose a home game for recruiting visits by playing in LR, especially during the years when we're the "home" team against A&M in Dallas. Those are all valid reasons to stop playing in LR without fear mongering about the area the stadium is in.
