I was 15 when it happened. They had to reconstruct my knee and put a screw through the knee to hold everything in place. Happened in Oct and by July, I was backpacking for two weeks in the Tetons of Wyoming. But I did work my arse off and it was numb for over a year.

While a 9 month recovery time is impressive, your story is anecdotal. We have hundreds of ACL tears recently to reflect on. It almost never heals so quickly.

Yes, sometimes you have guys like Adrian Peterson who look like nothing happen within 7 months, but that is exceedingly rare.
