We see the same story every single day, if you have enough money to get the best legal representatives you usually get off lightly.. This is what happens when these guys get treated like God's since high school because they are good at football.. They step on a college campus everyone bows down to them and gives them whatever they want. They think they are above the law, and have no care for anyone but themselves.. Hence getting in a car drunk and driving over 120 MPH, Ruggs thought he was above everyone else on the road and the passenger in his car.. Now we have started paying these guys?? I am afraid this is only the beginning of many other stories like this.. Let's stop treating these guys like they are God's just because they are good at football

You had to go all the way back to 2010 to dig this one up

Perhaps Kirby could bring Ruggs in to speak to your low IQ players about the consequences of speeding!
Too bad Saban didn't mold his players to be better men. Maybe Pete Rose will teach the Bammer players how to place bets without getting caught.

Hopefully the NFL bans him.
If another team picks up this loser when he gets out then that team's fans need to boycott them. Anything less than 5 years would be terrible but it is America maybe he can buy his way out.

Meh. I mean, what did he have? Speeding tickets? We had one horrible incident.
And, one could argue that it shows not much has changed with the VOls, no?

This is so dumb. If what you are saying is true, then no one that has ever been in the military would ever go onto to commit felonious crimes, kill, steal, rape etc. Its just an asinine, vapid assessment of things.

What does that say about your low IQ players who actually are responsible for killing people? Or possibly bring in your murdering basketball team members to talk about hardcore prison?

This punishment is egregiously severe.
Release him immediately.

and to only get 3 years is pitiful
Well first off he didn't get 3 years. He got 3 to 10... Is it possible he could only serve 3? Sure, but it's not the sentence.
Also he pled guilty.... I'm sure the DA recommended the sentencing for his plea. If he would've went to trial he would definitely would've got a larger sentence much more than 3 to 10.

Police: “So the next question I’m gonna ask you, I need you to be honest with me, okay? Were you guys racing to Waffle House?”
Carter: “Nah, I wasn’t”
Police: “Because I can tell you right now from looking at the damage to that car they were moving.”
Carter: “Yeah, they were drunk.”
Police: “Do you know who was driving that one?”
Carter: “Uh, I think it was one of the girls.”
Police: “Okay. How do you know the girls? What do they do?”
Carter: “They part of football. Everybody part of football.”
Carter was charged with street racing and reckless driving in connection to the crash. Carter has since pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor traffic violations and was sentenced to serve 12 months on probation; pay a $1,000 fine; perform 80 hours of community service; and complete a state-approved defensive driving course.
Carter was attending last month’s NFL combine in Indianapolis when he was notified of the charges. He left the combine to make his court appearance; was booked into jail; released; and then returned to the combine.
Athens-Clarke County police said alcohol impairment, racing, reckless driving, and speed were significant contributing factors to the crash. Police said Carter was racing with LeCroy in the moments leading up to the crash.

You just going to focus on Georgia and forget this happened at your school?
Feds investigate University of Tennessee over sexual violence ...
Not sure the last time the feds have had to investigate Georgia.
