Randy Moss just told Sirius FM that Cedric Tillman is the "best young receiver to enter the National Football League in the past 15 years".
"It's not even close. Every owner in the NFL should be pissed at whoever overlooked this guy multiple times."

Helluva a system Heupel runs considering he only played like 15 games in it

Surely this doesn't fire back like 95% of your other threads

So we're left to wonder if Josh Heupel is actually a great coach or if he had the good luck of stumbling into some uber talent, i.e. The Ed Orgeron Method.
If you recall, 2022 was the first time in Big Josh's coaching career that he didn't regress from the year prior.

Tillman had 2 catches previous to Heupel’s arrival and was a 2 star

I'm more persuaded by the track record of WRs coming out of offenses you can't run fully in the NFL due to differences in the game.
I'm more persuaded by the track record of guys who did not dominate early in their college careers failing in the NFL.
I'm more persuaded by older guys who only dominate their junior or senior season not doing that well in the NFL.

Tillman was under drafted. He will be a good NFL player, size, athleticism, ball skills. Best Vol WR I've watched (post-2005).

You're a fan who wants to see your player do well. I get it.
But....
WRs who go to top ten recruiting schools have a great track record.
WRs who have huge seasons as a freshman or sophomore have a great track record.
WRs who are drafted in the first and second round are far more likely to produce than WRs in the third round or later.
WRs who enter the draft at an early age are far more likely to produce than those who don't.
Again, WRs who are in offenses whose playbook, route tree, and scheme are more likely to be run in the NFL do better than WRs who are not in those types of offenses.
A lot to overcome here.
Hyatt would not be a great bet, but a better bet.

Want to bet he produces less than Chase and Jefferson?

"Had the luck of stumbling into Uber talent"...... I gotta know where this Uber talent you speak of came from. Because after Pruitt left Tennessee lost 35 players to the portal including....
-2 best LBs including the leading tackler and leader of defense
-sack leader and best pass rusher
-top 2 RBs
-starting QB and backup
-RT who was a 5 star and the guy who started over him
-only playmaking DB on the team
-4 out of top 6 DTs
Doesn't sound like any of the talent Pruitt brought in stuck around does it. Only exception is Darnell Wright and Hyatt (who averaged 200 yards a season).
Fast forward to last season, Tennessee's best players were:
-A former backup ACC QB (Hooker)
-a former walk on (Tillman)
-an LT that lost his starting spot a dozen times under Pruitt
-a 200 yard a season WR (Hyatt)
-a guy who worked at dollar general a year before coming to UT (Young).
All of those guys were drafted in the first 3 rounds of the 2023 NFL draft.
If Heupel and his staff could win 11 games in year 2 with these guys, what do you think he'll do with a legit roster. Be honest

Too many people buying into the recruiting BS about route running and route trees. That is something that they are using in recruiting against Tennessee. Which is a bunch of BS. But time will tell. It comes down to talent and desire. Because how many players were drafted in the NFL because I went through the combines and had great test results??

Is it?
You have half field reads?
I've seen WRs stand still at the snap.
I've seen several plays diagrammed and I don't see a full route tree at every position.
