I know the SEC has said they are happy with the 16 team setup. Will the Big 10 adding Oregon and Washington put any pressure on the SEC to reconsider?

I'm only curious. I don't have a preference either way.

I think they’ll respond and will go after the next cluster of teams on their wish list-probably would include FSU and Clemson. Maybe NC State , not sure who else fits that profile. VA Tech ?

SEC doesn't let B1G force them to do anything

Expanding would only water down the SEC. It is stupid to allow the conference to keep getting bigger...hell 12 teams is too much IMO

No need now. But probably yes if BIG keeps going.

Why does the SEC have to react?

No point in expanding unless new teams add to the revenue pie.

B1G is overplaying their hand and going to end up busting. Eventually this expansion shite will equate to diminishing returns.

The SEC will make geographically coherent expansion to keep up with the Joneses. We know FSU wants out, I think that is the smoke on where SEC goes.

The SEC will react.
You may think not, they're too good, too.
But, I think they will.

They'll start with ACC teams

I don't think so. Any schools we'd want, presuming we'd want any, would be in the ACC where the legal issues are a lot thornier.

Florida State and UNC, maybe UVA and someone else. Clemson is overrated.

What does 18 teams give us that 16 doesn't?

Let the B1G choke on their own dick.

If having FSU, Clemson, North Carolina or whoever now after what has occurred, then why was it not a priority last year? Because it was not then and not now. Let FSU, Clemson go back to obscurity. Adding Clemson or FSU does nothing . They already watch SEC games when not watching their teams play.

We will have our hands full with the addition of OU and Texas. When the next Sec contract comes up, it will make whatever the big ten has seem paltry as well as future contracts. The north is losing population. It’s moving south.

For those who don’t know, Texas has 30 million residents and projections over the next 50 years is for Texas to become the largest state by leaps and bounds. In fact, the entire southeast will swell with new SEC fans and eyeballs for advertisers.

Reconsider what? The SEC can't just go out and pluck Clemson and FSU. They have to get out of their grant of rights. They are locked in a TV deal till 2036.

Hopefully the SEC reconsiders having Missouri in the league.

I don't think so. Texas and OU were really good adds in that they checked two key boxes:

Maintaining regionality
Adding new markets with elite programs

I don't see many more prospects in this regard. Personally, I'd like the SEC to stay regional. In that case, your best prospects are probably FSU, Clemson, UNC, and NC State. I think it'd be a bad move for the SEC to scramble for lower tier programs to make the league "national"
