Another poster said Golding's defense sometimes folded in shootouts, but it is clear some of Bama's major losses during that time weren't shootout style and their O was to blame.

The O isn't going to be there every game. Name one great offense that is going to travel every week. Defense travels, not offense. We've had OCs that frankly were better than others. This is a commitment on both sides of the LOS. And frankly, they play off each other. BAMA lost games in every era of the Nick Saban era.

Now that that foolishness is put to bed, again, let me repeat, Golding's defense was undisciplined and lacked fundamentals, and against the elite offenses, it showed itself. Otherwise, BAMA was putting so many high 4 and 5 stars on the field we were just going to destroy teams with talent. Both offense and defense. And we will continue to do that under Kevin Steele.
