TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 23/13 Alabama men's and women's cross country squads are set to open the 2023 regular season Saturday at the Memphis Twilight in Memphis, Tenn, at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex. The women's 5k race will start at 9:20 p.m. CT, while the men's race gets underway at 10 p.m., and will cover four miles.

After earning three sweeps last weekend, Alabama continued to roll Friday night at the Green Wave Classic, taking down tournament host Tulane in three sets 25-22, 26-24 and 25-22.

This is the first time in program history that Alabama (4-0) has started a season 4-0 with four sweeps, holding Tulane (1-3) to a .097 hitting percentage while nearly doubling their kill total, 48-29. Alyiah Wells led the Crimson Tide offense with a season-best 12 kills and tied Kendyl Reaugh for the team lead with four blocks. Reaugh posted her second straight double-double (10 kills, 10 digs) while Callie Kieffer earned the first of her Alabama carer (37 assists, 12 digs).
