OK State.

OK State is far and away a better cultural fit than most of the suggested new members.

Notre Dame.

Take them so the big 10 doesn't get them. Not exactly a cultural fit but the are very conservative so there is common ground there. Set up Texas and ND to meaninglessly bicker with eachother so they don't bother the rest of the conferenc.

Perhaps put that idea back in the box for a while.

You need to go back inside the box.

If we wanted to expand our SEC footprint, North Carolina and Virginia would be two great targets.

OK State is a better cultural fit than is Mizzou. Let's trade with the Big14-2+1.

With the expansion to 12 teams for the playoffs, what would ND actually get from joining a conference now? They've survived the time that being in a conference would most help them. Now they can make the playoffs without sharing any revenue.

A brilliant idea. Lets invite the team even more self-entitled than Texas into the league. At least media days in Dallas and road trips to Austin could be fun. Ever been to South Bend, Indiana ?

Spoiler Alert - not fun.

I agree.

All they'll need to go is 10-2 in most seasons to make the expanded playoff anyways.

You can explain it to them until you're blue in the face. They don't care they're not a cultural fit, nor can they see why that matters so much to everyone else.

I'll take that question.

Notre Dame got a lifeline from the ACC, as far as a pool of teams to schedule. Once more teams go to a nine-game schedule ? Then the desire to schedule Notre Dame will fade away. Then that one team television deal will go away.

And then Notre Dame will join the B1G. But not until their own TV contract dies.

Anyone opposed to taking Notre Dame needs their head examined. The odds of them coming to the SEC over joining the Big Ten/remaining independent seem incredibly slim, but they're far and away the most sought after "available" school and likely the only program outside of the 2024 Big Ten that would actually boost the SEC payout.

I see you've never been to South Bend. Or interacted on anything close to a daily basis with Notre Dame fans.

All the trolling that Texas fans do here ? That really is how Notre Dame thinks of themselves. I wouldn't care if they were the most valuable team on the planet ... no thanks. Go elsewhere.

But go ahead, schedule them Vols. Then tell me how great it is to hear them bitch about Neyland the entire time they're there. Because that's what Notre Dame does.
