I am not sure if nattys should have that outsized a role in the calculations. It is hard to rank LSU over Ohio State given LSU's pretty steep dropoffs through the last few decades.

It's MUCH harder to win a national championship coming out of the SEC than it is to string a bunch of winning seasons together in the Big 10.
LSU is a much better program than OSU over this time frame.
Plus, those two teams met on the field once and settled that definitively.
