Holy hell, I would have thought West Virginia owned that stat.
Our redeeming quality is here in Lexington, Louisville, Cincinnati metro area, and all the farmland in Western Kentucky. So we've got more driving our economy than just coal. But as far as where the worst of the mountain poverty is, Eastern Kentucky is rough man.

I'm sure all the industry in western Kentucky more than offsets the Appalachian slums.
