Has the SEC ever thought of having its championship game in a non SEC city?

I know the BIg 12 holds its basketball tournament in Kansas City. I know most folks in Western Missouri are Kansas fans. But still, it is an out-of-conference town.

Honestly New York would be epic

The B1G would shite their pants if the SECCG was played in NYC

Imagine trying to hype up a game played in Indianapolis vs one played in NYC?

Fuhgeddaboudit!!!!

Yes, the SEC has considered Cincinnati and decided it is too much of a shite hole.

I'd put Cincinnati up against any shithole in the South. Legendary baseball club, football team went to a recent super bowl. UC legendary basketball program recently went to the playoff.

Yes it would be and it would make the Big 10's headspin. They would probably try to legally block it.

I’m sure Cincy is fine, but it’s not a place anyone puts in their top 50 places they would like to visit for a weekend.

They would whine so much

Now that you mention it, it would be epic to have the SECCG and then have the heisman ceremony in nyc at the same night!

There is no SEC affiliated university in Atlanta.

Atlanta is in a SEC state so it doesn't count. Not only that but Georgia is the main athletic program in the state.

Block it on what legal basis? That is an absolutely ridiculous statement.

So hell bent on moving it out of Atlanta now that Georgia is a perennial contender.
Sorry none of your poverty states have a stadium that comes close to MBS.

New York would an awesome place to play the game if there was a domed stadium. SEC fans are, apparently terrified of Atlanta so their fear of NY would cause most to curl up in a fetal position and never recover. Add our DNA steeped aversion to anything less than 60 degrees and the number of fans willing to make the trip could be counted in the hundreds. It’d be an awesome trip though….

There isn’t and it’s a shame that Tech thought they were too big for the SEC….I’d love to see them brought home but it ain’t ever going to happen.

That being said it’s doubtful anyplace in the country comes close to having more SEC fans than Atlanta. Outside of ATM and Missouri there is a heaping pile of fans of all SEC schools that live in Metro Atlanta. Probably a bunch of ATM and Missouri fans as well but I don’t know that for certain. I know there are bars all over town that are known as “Auburn” or “Florida” or “Alabama” bars….

Cincinnati is, as you state, a better shithole than any in the south. No doubt as far as shitholes go Cincinatti is among the nicer ones….
