Alabama had a Running back back in the 30's that played in the Rose Bowl then went back to Hollywood to be a western movie star. Sorry I went brain dead and can't remember his name...

You shouldn't include wrestling if you aren't including other sports. I know it's fake bit it still requires a certain level of size and athleticism. A large portion of pro wrestling has a background in athletics via football collegiate/Olympic wrestling bodybuilding mma etc. I'm ok with the rock being on here tho as he is an established actor

Dr. Denton A. Cooley, a college basketball star at Texas in the 1940's, performed the first totally artificial heart transplant in 1969.

He founded the Texas Heart Institute in 1962 and continued performing surgery until his 87th birthday, remaining active as President Emeritus until the Monday before he died at age 96.

By age 50 he had performed more than 5,000 cardiac operations, including 17 heart transplants. It has been estimated that over four decades, Cooley and his associates performed an estimated 100,000 open-heart surgeries — more than any other surgeon in the world.
