As if Texas is the only state that has this kind of law.

Based on this criteria, just about all these other school's acceptance rates would be lower.

Texas is NOT on par academically with USC, Duke, UCLA, etc.

How do you know this? How do you know that similarly situated students will get a better education at those schools compared to UT at Austin?

Well, yeah dawgie, Texas is actually that highly regarded. Rated higher than UGA in most categories for sure by any objective pub. #10 in National Public U's, #38 for all universities out of over 300, so elite by any measure.
