I don't understand why UK's is that high. It could be a post-COVID acceptance rate hike, which a lot of public schools have been doing. The requirements to get in to some colleges are virtually nothing now.

In state you have to have a pulse

Out of state you need to have the money

If you are out of state and have no money I am guessing rejection is pretty high.
