I'm including a year that Alabama won a national title in the downward trend. 2020 could've been a year close to 2019 in terms of quality but COVID restrictions robbed us of it.

I think the combination of several different things is slowly diminishing the quality of the sport. But it ain't even just college. The NFL has a reckoning coming where all the elite QB prospects they can get have primarily been running 1-read RPO offenses since high school.
