This will be just in time before the end of Hoover's contract in 2024. This should please the SEC office and Hoover will receive another contract extension.

Last week's SEC Baseball Tournament broke an all-time attendance record at the Hoover Met Stadium.

About 23 percent more fans showed up than did last year, and the total attendance beat the previous record by nearly 8,500.

On the outside, the parking will be resurfaced with traffic flow improvements.

On the inside, the city wants to install a concession boardwalk at the top of the bleachers.

Speaking of bleachers: most, if not all, could soon be replaced with individual stadium seats.

Every season that tournament seems less and less meaningful for the top teams. Would be better served letting everyone in, and at least have more teams fighting for a postseason bid.

Completely disagree.

About what? We’ve seen how most of the top teams treat the tournament. Lower pitch counts for starters, some guys sitting, etc. Best thing for LSU was not having to play more games in it.

College baseball still has some tradition left and Hoover has record attendance this year. Why give that fan experience up too?

Tennessee just won it as a one seed last year.

The Met seems to have the perfect atmosphere for baseball. Decent stadium, hotels, attractions, etc

I’m sure their package has beat out Jacksonville, Nashville, and others many times by now.

I disagree; the SEC tournament still feels special.

It's not basketball.

Maybe serving alcohol at games will be one of the upgrades.

Then lost their own Super.

Vandy won it this year and lost their own regional.

It's not worth it.

Wait is this allowed? The LSU athletic department told us this isn’t allowed and we are stuck with bleachers at the Box.

Absolutely, got everyone rested and ready to roll in the regional.

Think it was an accident they sat three starters and took out the starting pitcher early in their last game in the SEC tournament?

Agree, let all 16 teams play starting in 2025.

4 games Wednesday
1-16/2-15/3-14/4-13
4 games Thursday
5-12/6-11/7-10/8-9
4 games Friday
1-16 winner/8-9 winner
2-15 winner/7-10 winner
3-14 winner/6-11 winner
4-13 winner/5-12 winner
2 games Saturday
1–16/8-9 winner vs 4-13/5-12 winner
2-15/7-10 winner vs 3-14/6-11 winner
1 game Sunday
Championship

15 total games played. Maximum number of games played is 4. Single elimination. Higher ranked teams get the benefit of playing Wednesday and then have a day off if they win. Still get some great baseball but single elimination puts more emphasis on every game and possibly gives the higher ranked teams more incentive to win. On the flip side if they lose early , no big deal as they will have extra rest to get ready for the regionals.

Disadvantages-none.
