If that’s the case, then college football as a whole loses, because that is one of the premium matchups every single year in the college football season and has led to some amazing competition.

That is a different issue and from an LSU perspective, I assume. Look at the numbers the vote was 9-5 (according to Ross Dellinger, Brett McMurphy and other journalist who follow the SEC). TX and OU come in and vote, and they are for the 9 games, it is 9-7. The schools that voted for 9 games were LSU, Florida, MIZZOU, Texas A&M and UGA.

So if the LSU/Bama game goes away to get a 9 game schedule, so be it. But looking at the numbers, Auburn is going to vote with Bama and TENN to get what those 3 schools want. Auburn wants Bama and UGA and I would think to move their UGA game back to November. TENN is going to want Bama in the 3rd Saturday in October (Bama wants that and have the Iron Bowl the last game of the year), Keep Vandy so they can go to Nashville every other year as it is becoming like Atlanta in terms of population and that gives them a presence directly there for recruiting.

The LSU/Bama game in my view will likely to go to get the 9 game schedule. The votes are not there unless Bama, Auburn and TENN move, if 2 of them vote with the 5 (LSU, MIZZOU, UGA, Florida and Texas A&M) plus OU/TX you get the 9 game schedule passed. I think those 3 will vote for the 9 game when they get what they want. The other schools, UK, Arkansas, Miss. State, Ole Miss, Vandy, SCAR are not going to vote for a 9th game.
