The asterisk argument with State’s title is just lazy. Yeah, NC State got hosed. But State still had to beat No. 2 Texas and No. 4 Vandy twice in Omaha. This is after they played the ACC Champion and underseeded No. 10 Notre Dame in a Super Regional.

To act like State had an easy path to the title is total ignorance. It actually was significantly more difficult than OM’s path last year

3 seed won it all, state hosted until Omaha.

NC St had to beat the #1 seed on the road in their super, which I’m starting to think is not as big of deal considering Arkansas’ postseason play…

They also beat Vandy and 6 seed Stanford. They were the hottest team at the right time and got fricked.
