All of you that hate Missouri being in the SEC can directly thank good ol’ David Boren from Oklahoma. He’s the guy that held a “we won’t be a wallflower” press conference live while our leadership was desperately holding a closed door meeting trying to unite the Big 12. It pissed our normally-milquetoast leadership off so much that they said “frick it” and ultimately engaged with the SEC.

David Boren put Missouri in the SEC.

I can’t believe OU is dropping OSU which is a 100+ year rival.

It’s insane which college football games that have been staples for a century and often times more, are being cast aside like they’re nothing.

It irrationally infuriates me when Mizzou gets blamed for the collapse of the Big 12 as we knew it. In reality, Mizzou was the largest Big 12 school by revenue to vote for equal revenue sharing right up until the conference collapsed. And it was the Texas schools, Oklahoma schools, and Colorado who tried to bolt for the PAC first. Of course, that ended up being only Colorado who headed west. Then Nebraska saw the writing on the wall and bolted for the Big Ten. Then we got Boren's "wallflower" comments, and like you said, Mizzou, for the first and only time in its athletic program's history, took some initiative and found themselves in the SEC a short while later alongside A&M. I have always failed to understand how Mizzou, the fourth school to leave the conference, and one of the few that had been fighting to save it, is faulted with the collapse of the Big 12.
