it’s the same reason why the SEC dominates football, proximity to elite talent. NYC, the DMV and the Northeast in general produce a ridiculous amount of basketball talent.

Georgetown and Memphis really haven’t maintained.
Now UConn is the crazy one. They’re going for their 5th title since 1999 which is impressive. However I saw a stat earlier tonight that since that year, UConn has missed the tourney as many time as they’ve been a top 4 seed in the tourney (9 times). That’s wild.
