And when you include the larger area as a whole, Huntsville-Decatur (CSA) is just the 3rd largest in the state at 659,000. Mobile-Baldwin county has 667,000 and Greater Birmingham has 1.35 million.
At current growth rates, Huntsville should pass Mobile in 2-3 years, but would take 42 years to pass Birmingham
