Will the 19-2 Cats sweep Bama this weekend?

Is this a sport we are good at? I would like for us to be good at one sport at least.

In all honesty - there was more buzz about Spring Practice than basketball ... and it was close even before Kentucky's early NCAA out in basketball.
Is Kentucky a football school now ? I don't know. But in all honesty, regardless of what KSR or John Calipari says ... it's no longer a basketball school.
The state hasn't been basketball first for some time. A simple look at what sports the best athletes play shows that.

In a way it's good to see Kentucky fans embracing football so much -- hell, it helps to have a decent coach and team but basketball beginning to trend downwards in Kentucky kind of worries me a bit.

Maybe the 18-4 Tide sweeps Kentucky.

It's a trend, at least in fan following, that is organic ... and at least two decades in the making.
It goes back to high school ... and, in all honesty, Indiana as well. Indiana went from single class, everybody plays everybody else for one champion - back in the late 90s. That hurt the talent pool - because interest dropped immediately. And Kentucky pulled plenty - and I do mean plenty - of talent from Indiana. Walter McCarty. Sean Woods. The list goes on and on.
Kentucky still does the Sweet Sixteen - for high school basketball - but it simply is not the event it used to be. The interest is just not there.
But you should see High School Football now. Back in the day, the Louisville Catholic schools drew big crowds and dominated. Not so much now. Big crowds all across the state. Same in Indiana.

Big crowds for sweet 16 this year. Woodford brought a bunch.
