If Pete had the 3 point line we could forget Steven Curry.

And if the NCAA allowed freshmen to play back then, the record would be unreachable even in 5 full seasons. Maravich averaged 43.6 ppg in 19 games on the JV squad his freshman season. People ITT and others have brought up Maravich's volume shooting with stats like "he averaged 44 points but did so on 38 shots per game. That stat can't be viewed the same as we look at it today because there is a three point line now. Had Pete had a three point line, that number looks more like 38 shots to 50-52 ppg. Davis, with a 3 point line, averaged 25 points on 20 shots per game over the course of his career. Maravich also averaged over 5 assists per game over his career. The SEC leader this year averaged 5.3 per game.
